Local Government Law Reform Bill (No 2)

I seek leave that the Local Government and Environment Committee in its consideration of the Local Government Law Reform Bill (No 2) have power to consider and, if it thinks fit, adopt any amendments relating to the control and care of dogs.

I have listened carefully to the explanation given by the Minister with regard to this bill being referred to the Local Government and Environment Committee. I understand that he did not seek leave for it to go to the Government Administration Committee because one of the parties would not support the leave. I think it would be useful if the bill were referred to the Government Administration Committee rather than the Local Government and Environment Committee. Given that we have just passed a motion, I nevertheless seek the leave that the Local Government Law Reform Bill (No 2), be referred to the Government Administration Committee. I seek the leave of the House for that to happen.
